Gingerbread Jewels

Even spicy Betty Crocker, she of the gingerbread mix, must know that really - honestly - this does not require “easy directions on the package.” I think we just need to look at the picture. Dab on some whipped cream (or Cool Whip, really - that would fit in with the general scheme nicely), and then dab on the strawberry jam. I could do that!

And such a fancy name, too. The jewel part being the jam. And the gingerbread being the, um, gingerbread. Got it.

oooh yum - the jam is what we have here in NZ but the gingerbread with it looks a little bit um…rich?

You would be so proud of me today. I found the
book Joys of Jello at a local tag sale! It has some
awesome colored photos in it. I’ve been thinking
after reading your blog, I need to make something
fun from the past! Wish me luck! Have a great day! :)

Amy - Yeah, I thought it looked like a pretty massive dessert…not sure anyone really will call for seconds!

Vallen - I wanted some when I posted this too. Also gingerbread cookies. With icing, not cream and jam.

Jewelgirl - Oh, I love Joys of Jello! It has great pics in it, what are you going to make? Please post about how it goes, if you do!

Usually you see lemon with gingerbread why I don’t know, but I bet this would be good.

Rochelle - I thought so too, usually I think that the things in those ads look kind of strange, but I liked this. Mind you I do love gingerbread anyway!
