Tussy Fiends
Posted by Lidian on April 24, 2008
They roam the ice skating rinks of local parks, smirking and taunting. They compare the skin of their so-called friend to a prune (it wouldn’t make it any nicer even if they did say, as we do now ‘dried plum’ - let’s call a prune a prune!).
They’re there when you are having “cocktails in a tower” (perhaps they lock you up in one like a pruny Rapunzel). And if they relent and finally take you out for a 4 am hamburger - well, golly, they just can’t stop talking about your horrible dry scaly flaky skin.
Oh, just lend her some of your Tussy Special Night Cream, you fiends!
And then she can become one of you and join your dark forces of evil…

oooh I’ll have some tussy night cream - think it’ll stop my wrinkles? I love old ads too - I collect old magazines from the 40’s and 50’s - some of the adverts are hilarious

Amy - I collect old magazines too, though it is hard find them in secondhand stores near where I live - fortunately our central library has a lot of them on microfilm!
I am so glad you visited!

Oh my. I do believe I might need some Tussy for my dried up & pruny legs after being hidden away all winter!
For your daily dose of vintage goodness & a bit of silliness, stop by Confessions of an Apron Queen, the home of Vintage Thingies Thursdays.

Don’t you Mussy your Tussy. Oh, I think I have
that confused. I love the old ads and the old mags.
Of course I scour them for Jewelry ads!

I love old magazines ads. I can look through them all day. I am thinking about framing a few old vintage beauty ads from some magazines I have and hanging them in my bathroom. I figured they would entertain those who dilly dally too long in the john.

Jewelgirl - I love your Sarah Coventry ads, matched with the actual jewelry, so cool.
Melissa - I love old ads almost more than old cookbooks at the moment…of course, having some framed in the washroom (that’s Canadian for bathroom you know!) might make people hang out in there more, because there is nothing that is more fun than a vintage ad!
